The Final (Writing) Push
So I gave myself a week to write this up (that was two weeks ago), I’d been making heaps of notes and stuff and building PPT slides and capturing ideas as I went through my development process, so I thought I was well ahead of where I wanted to be… aaaaaand… then hit a wall.
Its not that I don’t know what to do next or what finishing touches I need to add to the text for Oppian Wives, rather I just hesitate at about 10,000 words and 20-ish pages to just go ‘yeah, it’s done’. A fear of putting it out there may be one explanation, but I wouldn't be logging my development if I was afraid of committing. I think its a fear of imperfection rather - not having a 'print ready' fully formed *thing* to deliver for the world perhaps.
So I’m setting a deadline. The words must be finished by Monday night 3rd January.
After that I have to do some basic layout and some squiggles for art and then get the damn alpha version of this thing up here on my itch.io page ready for playtesting.
That’s my goal, let’s see how it goes.
