A political game


This is the beginning of the devlog for Oppian Wives. The idea came while reading Goddesses, Whores, Wives, and Slaves by Sarah B. Pomeroy.

I set a few design challenges for myself with this game.

  1. No 'combat' or in fact direct action in a PVP sense. (yet, strong PVP in the game).
  2. A game without a clear and unifying 'adventuring party' or group dynamic where everyone has the same objective.
  3. Incorporating what 'works' from different systems rather than sticking to one only (although this VERY heavily a 'Drama System' game - please check out the works of Robin D. Laws - i.e. 'Hillfolk').


I'll maintain this devlog as I go through the entire RPG development process, adding text, images, and video as I explore the processes I use - both conceptually / theoretically as well as technically.
